Urban Oasis
The Brief
This urban courtyard garden needed a design overhaul to transform it from a bland space into a beautiful, inviting oasis.
This was a modern, new build garden that had an irregular shape.
From above it looked like a rectangle with a single corner cut at 45° to allow for a turning circle in the adjacent car park.
The owners wanted a design featuring a water feature, seating with lush planting that would conceal the missing corner.
The Design
To create the illusion of perspective and hide the 45° wall, a circular seating area was built.
Curved benches and a steel pergola, frame a circular sunken patio containing a central water feature and statue.
This is surrounded by dense planting, climbers, and small trees.
